Trial an Traonaigh / The Corncrake Trail
Saturday, 16th June 2018, Gola Island
Celebrating 25 years of Corncrake Conservation!
The Corncrake Conservation Project, set up in 1993, is operated by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Island counts have been taking place annually on Gola Island, and last year habitat management was carried out on over 7 ha of land throughout the island.
It is hoped that through these measures, a long-term population increase will be achieved on Gola.
Join us on the Corncrake Trail to learn all about these rare iconic birds and hear their unmistakable call.
